Banksias are prolific here on the Sunshine Coast. Their distinct flower heads stand proudly in the bush. This painting shows the banksia in a beautiful colour palette of mauves and warm siennas with a splash of pink. The colours are offset with a soft green grey and white.
My artworks are characterised by an array of mark making. I draw into wet paint to create the banksias and lift other ares to reveal underlying colour which gives a sense of depth to the piece.
